CIIT Attains Position

In May 2014, the CIIT attained position in 201-250 range of top Asian Universities by QS Asian University Rankings. In these Asian University Rankings, 10 institutions from Pakistan including CIIT are among top 300 in Asia.

It is pertinent to mention that QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) University Rankings is one of the leading international ranking organizations that have been publishing annually rankings of the World’s top universities. QS Rankings comprise both world and regional league tables which are independent of and different from each other owing to differences in the criteria and weightings used to generate them. Some of the QS University Rankings are World University Rankings, Asian University Rankings, BRICS University Rankings, and University Rankings by Subject.

The following table is detail comparison of QS World University Rankings and QS Asian University Rankings:

Key Aspects QS World University Rankings (WUR) (6 indicators) QS Asian University Rankings (AUR) (9 Indicators)
Academic Reputation 40% 30%
Employer Reputation 10% 10%
Faculty Student ratio 20% 20%
Citations per Faculty 20% X
Citations per Papers X 15%
Papers per Faculty X 15%
International Faculty 5% 2.5%
International Students 5% 2.5%
Inbound Exchange Students X 2.5%
Outbound Exchange Students X 2.5%

These rankings use some of the same criteria as the world rankings, but there are changed weightings and new criteria. One addition is the criterion of incoming and outgoing exchange students. Accordingly, the "QS World University Rankings" and the "QS Asian University Rankings" released in the same academic year are different and independent of each other.
